Senior Civil Structural Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

In Short

• Support the structural design of the reactor building for a Generation IV Nuclear Power Plant.
• Coordinate structural design across disciplines through technical guidance and collaboration.
• Lead resolution of technical clashes between design models.
• Perform complex structural analysis and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers in design and interface management.
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations and construction documents.
• Communicate technical issues effectively to various audiences.
• Build strong relationships with project partners.
• Some travel may be required (10%).

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis required.
• 5+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Master of Science in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Team player with a collaborative approach.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in TN preferred.
