Senior Structural Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

Otto Aviation is seeking a senior level design engineer to become a member of the structural design team, focusing on composite airframe design and aircraft development.

• Lead structural designs through all phases of aircraft development.
• Manage compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary trade studies for aircraft optimization.
• Develop company standard processes for structural design.
• Manage key structural suppliers and partners.

• Interface with various teams to meet design commitments.
• Support prototype and production vehicle development.
• Assist in the implementation of PLM tools.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of aerospace structural design experience.
• Expertise in composite structural design and systems integration.
• Proficiency in FAR Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Proficiency in Design for Manufacturability methodologies.
• Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and PLM systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience managing supplier relationships.
• Preferred experience in prototype environments.
