Accounting Lead - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an Accounting Lead to take ownership of core accounting operations within a fast-growing SaaS organization. This role combines hands-on execution with team leadership, overseeing daily accounting tasks while guiding and mentoring junior staff.

In Short

• Perform and oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable operations, maintaining accurate cash flow and strong vendor/customer relationships.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy through personal execution and oversight of team members.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes while actively performing critical closing tasks.
• Coordinate with external auditors, providing documentation and timely responses to inquiries.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including contract review and journal entry preparation.
• Develop and refine financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for practical, day-to-day use.
• Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, mentoring and coaching them while collaborating on deliverables.

Requirements

• Proven track record in SaaS accounting.
• Experience in managing accounting operations.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
