Overview

The Building Engineer for Data Center Operations at JLL is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of data center activities, including hardware and cabling installations, troubleshooting, and remote hands support.

In Short

• Handle tape backup media and prepare for offsite storage.
• Perform ad hoc requests as directed by management.
• Prepare and coordinate incoming shipments.
• Support remote hands tasks such as power cycles and equipment inspections.
• Conduct hardware installations and cabling troubleshooting.
• Support Service Manager processes by managing tickets.
• Involve in planning and executing Power Maintenance Events.
• Maintain adequate sparing levels and perform physical audits.
• Collaborate to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Work shifts and provide on-call support as needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a data center environment.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations.
• High School diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Understanding of cabling best practices and IT hardware.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
