Overview

The Pre-Access Central Scheduler PRN is responsible for scheduling and pre-registering patients for various medical appointments while providing excellent customer service and managing high call volumes across multiple locations.

In Short

  • Schedule and pre-register patients for appointments and procedures.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to scheduling.
  • Transcribe external orders from physicians.
  • Manage high call volumes for multiple departments.
  • Utilize multiple systems for scheduling functions.
  • Provide patients with preparation and location information.
  • Validate patient insurance and explain benefits.
  • Mentor new hires as needed.
  • Promote the mission and values of Intermountain Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 4 years of revenue cycle experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of revenue cycle or contact center experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to self-resolve technical issues.
  • Strong customer service etiquette.
  • Basic medical insurance knowledge.
  • Intermediate computer operating knowledge.
  • 30+ WPM typing speed.
  • Active listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone calls.
  • Complex problem-solving skills.
