Overview

The Benefits Specialist will manage end-to-end benefits operations for the U.S. and Canadian teams, focusing on self-insured health and welfare programs.

In Short

  • Administer and maintain U.S. and Canadian benefits programs.
  • Lead annual open enrollment and oversee compliance filings.
  • Manage vendor relationships and employee support.
  • Conduct data and financial analysis for benefits programs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Ensure operational excellence in benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external partners.
  • Continuously improve processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide clear benefits communication and education.
  • Support 401(k) plan administration and audits.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in self-insured U.S. benefit plans.
  • HRIS experience, preferably with Rippling.
  • Strong understanding of medical and claims administration.
  • Familiarity with Canadian benefits programs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA compliance.
  • Experience working with brokers and third-party administrators.
  • Analytical mindset with cost modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach.
  • Ability to manage confidential information accurately.
