Director of Hardware Engineering - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Director of Hardware Engineering to lead a team focused on devices that support the IntelliShift Platform. As the Director of Hardware Engineering, you will be pivotal in defining the company's device strategy and success by building new devices or working with device partners that enable IntelliShift to provide a best-in-class solution in our core Ideal Customer Profile and that helps IntelliShift achieve its long-term goals.

In Short

• Define, communicate and execute the product vision to build a compelling device strategy that aligns to the goals of IntelliShift.
• Collaborate with the executive team to align product goals with overall business objectives.
• Craft the long-term strategy and lead execution of strategic initiatives as it relates to hardware.
• Work closely with external hardware vendors and suppliers.
• Manage a group of internal Hardware Engineers, Vehicle Data Engineers and Hardware QA Team.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a world-class team with a focus on growth.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Develop detailed hardware and firmware specifications to external hardware vendors, internal Hardware Engineers and QA team.
• Work closely with our software Product Management team to understand our customers’ wants and needs to enable a world-class customer experience delivered through the IntelliShift hardware.
• Work with leaders cross-functionally to plan and execute strategic initiatives.

• Proven experience in hardware engineering and product development.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in developing product strategies and executing them.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with vendor management and negotiations.
• Understanding of customer needs and market trends.
• Ability to travel occasionally for business needs.
• Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
