Overview

INTECON, LLC is seeking an Event Specialist to support AFWERX’s Strategic Communications and Events Team. This role will help plan and manage events that bring together government, industry, and academia to drive innovation and collaboration.

In Short

  • Plan and coordinate in-person and virtual events.
  • Manage event logistics including venue selection and catering.
  • Work with vendors to secure contracts.
  • Develop event schedules and timelines.
  • Support registration and agenda creation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to promote events.
  • Ensure adherence to DoD and Air Force protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Travel as needed for event support.

Requirements

  • Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in event planning.
  • Experience with large-scale events (300+ attendees).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with military customs preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • Experience with platforms like Cvent and Zoom Events.
