Senior Character FX Artist - Remote

Overview

Insomniac is looking for a Senior Character FX Artist. In this role you will be responsible for character setups and simulating anatomy, cloth, and hair for both offline and real-time applications, utilizing shot-specific finaling techniques, and contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the simulation and CFX pipeline.

• Acts as an intermediary between animation and technical teams.

• Identifies opportunities for improving the development pipeline.

Requirements

• Experience in character setup and simulation setup.
• Expert-level knowledge of simulation systems like Houdini/Vellum.
• Strong knowledge of shot-finaling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of physical anatomy for realistic deformations.
• Working knowledge of runtime simulation systems.
• Experience with offline processing/renderfarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of Maya and scripting languages.
• Basic knowledge of DOS.
