Overview

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness plans. This role assists employees in understanding benefit options, supports the annual enrollment process, manages benefit data accuracy, and serves as a liaison between employees, HR leadership, and external benefits providers.

In Short

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including group health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), and wellness plans
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations accurately and timely within HRIS systems
  • Audit benefit deductions and enrollment data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with payroll and vendors
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding plan coverage, eligibility, and costs, ensuring high-quality service delivery
  • Manage benefits documentation and maintain confidential employee records in compliance with privacy standards
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and concerns
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial/state regulations
  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefits vendors or brokers to resolve service or claims issues
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve the employee benefits experience
  • Support the evaluation of vendor performance and participate in benefits renewals or system upgrades

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 4+ years experience in benefit administration
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage complex employee benefit plans utilizing third party providers
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits and related regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/benefits platforms
