Kafka Lead Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka Lead Engineer to join our team and work closely with the Army on mission-critical data stream engineering projects. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering essential data solutions in an artificial intelligence (AI) and low code no code (LCNC) architecture, helping the Army transform and optimize their data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in Kafka development and a strong focus on customer engagement, especially in adapting solutions to fit the Army's unique needs and working in an agile environment.

In Short

• Lead the design and development of Kafka-based data pipelines and streaming solutions.
• Develop connectors, transformations, and integration patterns for real-time data access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Engage with Army personnel to tailor Kafka solutions to their operational needs.
• Mentor associate Kafka developers and guide them through best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Kafka Engineer or Lead.
• Expertise in Kafka architecture and streaming technologies.
• Experience with DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile methodology experience.
• Strong customer focus and engagement skills.
• Experience in government or defense sectors is a plus.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with Kafka-related tools.
• Strong understanding of data integration and real-time analytics.
• Security clearance or ability to obtain one is preferred.
