Platform Engineering Manager - Remote

Overview

We're looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to join our team at Hypixel Studios, which collaborates remotely from around the world. Our members range from industry newcomers to experts with 25+ years of experience. Team members come from a diverse set of backgrounds, but share a common passion for building polished player-focused, community-powered games.

In Short

• Manage a team of 3-6 engineers through coaching and mentoring.
• Performance management including writing and delivering reviews.
• Work closely with Product Owners and Project Managers.
• Architect, plan and review implementations of web services.
• Create detailed documentation for stakeholders.
• Experience with backend services and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems.
• 6+ years of programming experience in systems languages.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with Agile delivery is a bonus.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional programming experience in systems languages (Golang, C++, Java, Rust).
• 6+ years working on scaled backend services and infrastructure.
• 2+ years as a manager or in a similar leadership role.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, observability, software development lifecycle and cloud infrastructure.
