The Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks, ensuring efficient laboratory operations and patient care.

In Short

• Collects and processes patient specimens according to laboratory policies.
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies.
• Performs laboratory support duties for efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
• Minimum phlebotomy training required.
• Acts 34, 33, and 73 clearances required.
• Preferred certification as a phlebotomist.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work location.

Requirements

• Phlebotomy training.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Certification as a phlebotomist preferred.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
