Overview

The Childbirth Educator will educate expectant and new parents in all aspects of birth preparation and newborn care, contributing to the development of educational programs and participating in related marketing activities.

• Teach childbirth education classes based on evidence-based practices.

• Minimum certification as a childbirth educator required.
• Preferred qualification: BA/BS degree and experience as a registered nurse.
• Must obtain certification within one year.

Requirements

• Certification as a childbirth educator (e.g., Lamaze, ICEA).
• Act 34, 33, and 73 background clearance certificates.
• Preferred: BA/BS degree and RN experience.
• CPR Instructor certification if teaching CPR.
• 3 years of recent experience in childbirth education.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Commitment to patient-centered care.
