Cardiac Monitor Technician - Full Time - Remote

Overview

The Cardiac Monitor Technician is responsible for continuous observation, interpretation, and communication of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

In Short

• Performs continuous observation and interpretation of ECG rhythms.
• Maintains assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport.
• Identifies changes and reports to the RN as appropriate.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors and accounts for monitors upon patient discharge.
• Ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors.
• Performs unit specific duties such as video monitoring and order entry.
• Adheres to ethical and legal standards in compliance with HIPAA.
• Participates in training and development as required.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or completion of a training course upon hire.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred EMS, CMA diploma/training/experience.
