Overview

The Advanced Cardiac Device Specialist is responsible for providing longitudinal care to patients with implanted rhythm management devices and analyzing their performance.

In Short

  • Operates cardiac diagnostic equipment for device studies.
  • Analyzes and reprograms cardiac devices.
  • Performs quarterly transtelephonic device checks.
  • Maintains patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Conducts education sessions for patients and families.
  • Maintains data management through software applications.
  • Requires BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • 3 years of experience in electrophysiology or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac rhythms is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associates degree with 3+ years of related experience.
  • BLS certification with AED training.
  • ACLS certification within the first year.
  • Certification with the International Board of Heart and Rhythm Examiners.
  • Must register for certification exam within 24 months of hire.
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac rhythms and interpretation.
