Software Engineer - Survey Application - Remote

Overview

As a Software Engineer at HST Pathways, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a survey application, driving technical development and leveraging AI to enhance the development process.

In Short

• Own the full lifecycle of the survey application (design, development, deployment, maintenance).
• Build and maintain features using Ruby on Rails across the full stack.
• Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Design scalable and reliable backend systems.
• Embrace an AI-first development strategy.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Establish best practices for code quality and testing.
• Integrate emerging technologies, including voice AI.
• Work autonomously as the sole engineer on a product.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and support diversity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Full stack development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native solutions.
• Experience designing production-grade systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and independence.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies, especially in AI.
• Experience with voice AI platforms (preferred).
• Experience with frontend development (React, NextJS preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (preferred).
• Startup or early-stage product experience (preferred).
