Staff Network Reliability Engineer - Remote

Overview

Gusto is looking for a Staff Network Reliability Engineer to help operate Gusto’s corporate, datacenter, and cloud networks, focusing on day-to-day operations and large-scale projects.

In Short

• Deploy new network tooling focusing on scalability, reliability, and security
• Write code to help monitor, configure, validate, and operate the corporate network
• Excel in a rapidly evolving environment and adapt quickly to new information
• Develop and maintain consistency within the networking infrastructure
• Participate in a regular on-call rotation and work non-standard hours during network changes
• Travel to Gusto offices once per quarter for implementation and troubleshooting
• Partner with security teams to maintain secure network infrastructure
• Collaborate with other stakeholders at Gusto for reliable networking

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
• Deep expertise in networking protocols and vendor technologies
• Strong background with Linux systems and programming skills in Python or Go
• Proven experience in designing and operating distributed services
• Skilled in cloud infrastructure with understanding of automation practices
• Passionate about continuous improvement and service health tracking
