Principal Economist - Remote

Overview

The Principal Economist at Gusto will collaborate with a team of economists and other departments to develop and execute a research agenda focused on entrepreneurship and labor trends, conducting quantitative analysis and presenting findings.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Economics or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills, preferably in Python or R.
• Ability to develop meaningful research questions.
• Understanding of publicly available data sources.
• Experience in labor economics or entrepreneurship research.
• Enthusiasm for supporting small businesses.
• Knowledge of survey design or qualitative methods is a plus.
