Staff Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Staff Accountant at God Restoring Order Community will ensure compliance with GAAP and grant reporting requirements while supporting the financial operations of the organization.

In Short

• Maintain monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Assist in audit preparation and annual tax filings.
• Prepare quarterly and annual funder reports.
• Identify and analyze budget variances.
• Manage Accounts Payable and reconcile Accounts Receivable.
• Work hybrid with 2 days onsite in Chicago and 3 remote days.
• Support decision-making with accurate financial data.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with the revenue department as necessary.
• Utilize platforms like QuickBooks Online and bill.com.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required.
• Accounting certification (CPA) desired.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Experience with grant billing preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of GAAP experience preferred.
