Staff Engineer - Technology Financial Planning - Remote

Overview

GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our growing Technology Financial Planning team with a passion for building, implementing and supporting financial planning systems.

In Short

• Design, build, and enhance solutions utilizing financial planning systems.
• Collaborate with FP&A to define data needs.
• Create integrations solutions to/from financial planning systems.
• Utilize programming languages like Python and Java.
• Mentor other engineers and share best practices.
• Participate in Production on-call support.
• Build scalable and resilient distributed systems.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
• Support Financial Planning and Analysis departments.
• Work with senior Finance Leaders to interpret their needs into system solutions.

Requirements

• 15+ years in IT or Tech supporting and developing applications.
• 10+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions.
• Experience with financial planning systems like Oracle EPM and Anaplan.
• Advanced programming experience with Java, Python, or similar.
• Understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Understanding of DevOps concepts and application monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with data tools for financial data manipulation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
