Director of Finance - Remote

Overview

The Director of Finance will build and lead all aspects of the finance function at GoodShip, a high-growth, venture-backed startup in the freight technology sector.

In Short

• Build finance infrastructure from scratch, including forecasting models and budgeting processes.
• Partner with leadership for company-wide financial planning and scenario modeling.
• Manage outsourced accounting, ensuring GAAP adherence and audit readiness.
• Drive capital strategy and support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure financial rigor in resource allocation.
• Lead FP&A and financial operations for a growing startup.

Requirements

• 8+ years of finance experience, preferably in venture-backed SaaS startups.
• Deep knowledge of SaaS business models and financial metrics.
• Strong financial modeling skills and experience with external accounting firms.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and build systems from scratch.
