Director of Finance - Remote

Overview

The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the overall financial operations of the company, providing key support to the business including analysis, forecasting, and preparing financial reports, as well as directing and managing the company's accounting functions.

In Short

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes.
• Support the CFAO in Board & Committee financial reporting.
• Prepare annual operating budgets with quarterly updates.
• Resolve Accounts Receivable collection issues.
• Manage the annual audit process.
• Oversee banking and treasury transactions.
• Compile and review Canadian and US tax returns.
• Direct oversight of finance team members.
• Establish accounting policies and procedures.
• Contribute to corporate processes and strategic planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Canadian CPA designation.
• 5-7 years of experience in senior finance roles.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in time management and communication.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Experience with Canadian and US tax compliance.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and integrations.
• Non-Profit and virtual work experience is an asset.
