Principal Engineer, Analytics - Remote

Overview

The Principal Engineer, Analytics provides technical leadership for the engineering teams across the Analytics stage, working closely as a key member of the leadership team in collaboration with counterparts across the organization.

In Short

• Contribute to the overall direction of the Analytics stage and company-wide reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts and individual contributors.
• Plan improvements and features with a 12-month view and ensure alignment with OKR-level goals.
• Solve complex technical problems and look for innovation opportunities.
• Interface with Engineering Managers and Senior Management to enable Staff Engineers.
• Propose initial technical implementations to solve scaling and performance issues.
• Interact with customers and stakeholders as a consultant.
• Identify slow and inefficient code across multiple products.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Principal Engineer or relevant hands-on management experience.
• Experience with Go; Ruby on Rails, Postgres, ClickHouse, NATS/Kafka are a plus.
• Extensive experience building high-throughput, real-time distributed systems.
• Expert knowledge in CI/CD using DevSecOps best practices.
• Experience developing scalable solutions for on-premise applications and SaaS platforms.
• Strong communication skills for complex problems and solutions.
• Experience with performance and optimization problems.
• Comfort in a highly agile, iterative software development process.
• Experience owning projects from concept to production.
