General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on embedded radio software and connectivity. This role is crucial for developing next-generation automotive computing platforms and ensuring high-quality vehicle performance.

In Short

  • Develop and enhance Linux kernel and device drivers.
  • Lead system bring-up activities including bootloader configuration.
  • Integrate and optimize hardware components for embedded systems.
  • Implement diagnostics and health monitoring solutions.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot low-level system issues.
  • Support manufacturing processes and hardware validation.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams for optimal integration.
  • Define OKRs for software stability and performance.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, reporting to Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded Linux kernel development.
  • Experience with BLE, UWB, and system bring-up.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (UART, PCIe, I2C, etc.).
  • Expertise in embedded RTOS and kernel internals.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics and fault detection.
  • Familiarity with low-level debugging tools.
  • Experience with SoC architectures and hardware interaction.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
