Overview

The Warranty Data Analytics team is looking for an innovative, forward-thinking analyst to join their team. The Warranty Data Analytics Sr Finance Analyst is responsible for understanding GM warranty business processes, developing forecasting models and analyzing data trends.

In Short

  • Understand new warranty coverages and develop new models.
  • Develop and analyze warranty forecasting models using actuarial concepts.
  • Provide input for quarterly reserve adequacy studies based on actuarial analysis of claims spend.
  • Assess reserve balances using actuarially accepted techniques.
  • Contribute to the annual warranty accrual rate setting process.
  • Provide data deliverables and ad-hoc support to the GM Warranty Accounting teams.
  • Utilize new technologies and solutions to support data analytics and dashboarding.
  • Partner with IT to explore machine learning for predictive analytics.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Collaborate with various teams including Global Warranty, Controllership, and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Actuarial Science, Finance, Data Analytics or related field.
  • Experience with SQL, HQL, Python.
  • Actuarial experience or experience in statistical modeling and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of VBA, HUE, Power BI, and/or KNIME.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and deliver within restricted time constraints.
  • Ability to embrace and manage change.
