Senior Cloud Data Architect - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Data Architect to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico in a fully remote capacity; this position is intended to be approximately 6 months.

In Short

• Modernize LANL’s Operational Data Store (ODS) by transitioning to a cloud-based solution.
• Create a roadmap for implementing modernization including strategy and architecture.
• Analyze existing ODS architecture and data models for migration challenges.
• Assess cloud service providers to identify the best fit for LANL’s needs.
• Design a scalable and secure architecture for the cloud-based ODS.
• Implement measures for data security and regulatory compliance.
• Develop a migration plan ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
• Recommend strategies for optimizing performance and scalability of the ODS.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 15+ years of relevant experience in data architecture.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance.
• Expertise in designing scalable data architectures and ODS.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and database services.
• Proven ability to execute complex data migration strategies.
• Expertise in system performance tuning and database optimization.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Technical proficiency in AWS, Azure, Oracle Exadata, Oracle SQL, SQL.
