Overview

Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a part-time Patient Benefits Specialist who is responsible for processing and responding to requests for information regarding the State Eligibility System and overseeing the patient Self Pay process. This role offers stability, ongoing training, and the opportunity to contribute to work that directly supports access to care.

In Short

  • Generate, send and retrieve electronic reports to State Eligibility System.
  • Enter data into the patient medical record and updates applicable changes.
  • Investigate discrepancies regarding patient payer information.
  • Inform internal staff of potential patient losses of insurance coverage.
  • Update and monitor spreadsheets shared with staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Track monthly payments and process reports for collections.
  • Maintain procedures and stay current with process changes.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with State Eligibility systems preferred.
  • Experience with Self Pay processes preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
