Database Administrator II - Remote

Overview

The Database Administrator II will be responsible for maintaining systems as defined and ensuring their ongoing availability. The Database Administrator II will take ownership for aspects of the Azure cloud and on premise SQL Server RDBMS systems.

In Short

• Provide operational support for multiple Accruent SAS Azure and SQL Server database products.
• Must be on call 24x7 for one-week shifts in a SQL DBA rotation.
• Proactively monitor, analyze, and resolve database performance issues.
• Participate in cross functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
• Manage ticket queues in JIRA to meet SLAs.
• Create and update standard database process documents.
• Work with Product and Engineering to improve product functionality.
• Spec out and set up new database servers.
• Perform SQL Server upgrades and database migrations.
• Implement standard security best practices.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with SQL Server database administration.
• 2+ years of experience with Azure SQL Database.
• 3+ years of experience with T-SQL and Powershell scripting.
• SQL Server and/or Azure database certifications are preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
• Performance tuning and query/index optimization skills.
• Critical technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Good understanding of database design principles.
• Solid proficiency in database backup and recovery processes.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
