Revenue Recognition Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Revenue Recognition Accountant will work closely across multiple teams within Firstup to address revenue accounting matters in accordance with U.S. GAAP and maintain revenue accounting policies, owning the end-to-end revenue accounting processes and conducting research on complex revenue arrangements.

In Short

• Prepare and analyze revenue accounting entries for month-end close.
• Own the ASC 606 revenue recognition in NetSuite (ARM module) monthly.
• Perform detailed reviews/analysis of Master Agreements and Contracts.
• Conduct SSP analysis and create processes for ongoing maintenance.
• Review data accuracy and revenue recognition impact in Salesforce.
• Ensure GAAP application to complex revenue transactions.
• Support annual audit activities with external auditors.
• Participate in improving revenue recognition processes and systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of direct experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Proven experience with ASC 606 system implementations.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a focus on the big picture.
• Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and Word / Google Docs.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Excited to build out systems in a growing business.
