Staff Accountant II - Remote

Overview

Fenway Health is a non-profit healthcare organization with a mission to enhance the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community and other underrepresented populations in underserved neighborhoods through access to quality health care, education, research, and advocacy. Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant II is responsible for the accounting of all accruals, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, and all billing and payroll system integrations.

In Short

• Primary areas of responsibility will be accruals, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, and billing and payroll integrations
• Maintains ownership of fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation, disposals, and Ad hoc projects.
• Oversees pharmacy integrations, monthly write-offs and reporting
• Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations
• Performs month-end close tasks and preparing financial statement analysis over areas of responsibility
• Assists in department preparation for the annual audit, tax filings, and other compliance filings
• Drives continuous improvement in department processes
• Suggests and participates in continuing quality improvement efforts
• Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
• Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum of 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Ability to deliver detailed accurate results in a timely manner
• Comfort with managing multiple workflows and successfully coordinating across cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and effectively communicating results to various levels of leadership and operations
• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
• Willingness to contribute towards Fenway’s efforts in becoming an anti-racist organization
