Director, Commodity Foods - Produce - Remote

Overview

The Director, Commodity Foods - Produce provides leadership with the goal of obtaining additional agricultural products (produce) for the Feeding America network. This position will develop strategy and explore new opportunities, ideas and methods of working with farmers and ranchers, processors, industry, government partners and the network to meet short-term pounds targets and long-term strategic outcomes.

• Hybrid position based out of Feeding America’s Chicago or Washington DC office.
• Flexible work environment with an average of 2 days in-office per week.
• Frequent travel (25-30%) required.
• Develop and implement strategy to grow access to and donations of agricultural products.
• Manage and track business objectives for agricultural product access.
• Provide subject matter expertise for strategic accounts and projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry trade associations.
• Plan and facilitate engagement meetings with partners.
• Lead strategic projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Support grant creation and execution to meet donor requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Experience in agri-business (produce, protein, dairy).
• Minimum 5 years leading programs and projects.
• Strong networking and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage and analyze data for business insights.
• Adept at using technology and remote collaboration methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Salesforce and Tableau.
