Lead Designer - Remote

Overview

Exygy is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and creative Lead Designer who is passionate about making a difference in the world with design and technology. This role is a full-time remote position focused on building out CiviForm, a platform for public benefits.

In Short

• Work with product and design leadership to define design strategy.
• Lead the creation of impactful UX and UI design solutions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product partners.
• Mentor and onboard staff designers and design fellows.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research.
• Advocate for accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Build and maintain CiviForm's design system.
• Engage with complex government stakeholders.
• Focus on equitable design processes for underserved populations.
• 7+ years of experience in Product/UX and UI Design required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of human-centered design principles.
• Experience in civic tech, affordable housing, or social impact work.
• Expertise in Figma and additional design software.
• Strong collaboration abilities and a flexible approach.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Interest in developing design skills and sharing knowledge.
• Comfortable working within an agile development process.
• Experience with equitable design processes.
• Knowledge of web accessibility best practices.
• Degree in Design or equivalent experience required.
