Senior Legal Counsel Women’s Protection - Remote

Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel for Women’s Protection will lead the transnational Women’s Protection Program ensuring that women across East Africa receive free legal support and representation.

In Short

• Build and launch the Women’s Protection program in all EUSMS countries
• Recruit, train, and supervise local legal teams and case managers
• Develop and standardize global case management systems
• Ensure compliance with legal standards
• Liaise with NGOs, labor unions, and community groups
• Train organizations on women’s protection policies
• Build relationships with UN agencies and NGOs
• Collaborate on research and program strategies
• Support grant applications and donor engagement
• Contribute to global justice efforts

Requirements

• Registered lawyer
• Experience in legal support and program management
• Knowledge of women’s rights and protection laws
• Ability to train and supervise teams
• Excellent communication and outreach skills
• Experience in working with NGOs and community organizations
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Commitment to social impact and justice
• Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
• Availability for part-time commitment (10 hours/week)
