Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer - DB2 - Remote

Overview

The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer will provide premium DB2 sysprog support and services to Ensono mainframe clients, focusing on database software upgrades, administration, and tuning to enhance DB2 environments.

In Short

• Perform mainframe database software upgrades and administration.
• Monitor file extent growth and schedule reorganizations.
• Create and maintain disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide on-call support across multiple time zones.
• Assist in customer migration services related to DB2.
• Review database performance and optimize configurations.
• Fulfill customer service orders in a timely manner.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors for database problem resolution.
• Participate in the development of new services and support efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DB2 administration and systems programming.
• Knowledge of best practices in software management.
• Experience with SMP/e and parallel sysplex environments.
• Ability to develop innovative strategies and processes.
• Experience with DB2 security and risk evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with SQL code tuning and internal DB2 buffer pools.
• Ability to respond quickly to support requests from multiple clients.
