Overview

The Counter Salesperson will provide sales support to walk-in customers at the Profit Centre counters, ensuring the highest level of customer service while maintaining a clean and stocked sales area.

In Short

  • Provide sales support to walk-in customers.
  • Maintain and stock the counter sales area.
  • Answer customer questions and process orders.
  • Assist with counter merchandising and product promotion.
  • Follow up on backorders and manage returns.
  • Build relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize software systems for order processing.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Collaborate with the Profit Centre Manager on various tasks.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college/university degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service or counter sales experience.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and operate relevant software systems.
  • Intermediate math skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience with plumbing and building products is preferred.
  • Proficient in using the Internet for problem-solving.
  • Experience with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
