Senior Backend Engineer (North or South America) - Remote

Overview

Elevate Labs is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and maintain the backend for our award-winning app, Balance, as part of a fully remote team dedicated to improving people's minds.

In Short

• Lead technical design and implementation of backend systems.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Content teams.
• Mentor fellow engineers and help them grow their skills.
• Focus on backend development while assisting in other areas as needed.
• Drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
• Stay updated with the latest backend development technologies.
• Integrate 3rd party APIs for various functionalities.
• Communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback.
• Ship customer-facing products.
• Work in a fully remote environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software experience in backend development.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Passion for product-focused problem-solving.
• Ability to identify areas for improvement.
• Experience with mobile app backends is a plus.
• Experience with billing systems like Stripe is a bonus.
• Interest in mental health and meditation is a plus.
• Experience with multiple technologies in the stack is a bonus.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide feedback.
• Experience with web or full stack development is a plus.
