Overview

The Senior Professional Coder is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning appropriate codes to ensure proper reimbursement for services in a healthcare setting.

• Review clinical documentation for accuracy in coding.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a coding program.
• Two years of professional coding experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and disease processes.
• Current certification with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Experience with Epic and 3M Encoder preferred.
• Ability to maintain high coding accuracy (95%).
• Strong communication skills for clinician interaction.
• Understanding of Local and National Coverage Determination policies.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
