Overview

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide direct care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort under supervision while contributing to the mission of Essentia Health.

• Responsible for personal hygiene care and nutritional assistance for patients.
• Provide comfort care and assist in safely transferring patients.
• Take vital signs and maintain accurate recordkeeping.
• Report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patient healing.
• Work within regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
• Must complete nursing assistant training or have relevant experience.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire.
• Flexible scheduling with rotating shifts.

Requirements

• 6 months of nursing assistant experience or equivalent education.
• Completion of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program.
• Enrollment in the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course.
• Current registration on the state nursing assistant registry.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain it within a month.
• Completion of training course within 90 days if applicable.
• Ability to work day/evening/night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Strong communication skills.
