Overview

Democracy Forward seeks an experienced attorney and manager to serve as Deputy Director of Democracy 2025.

In Short

• Manage and support Democracy 2025 working groups.
• Coordinate among leaders of approximately 20 working groups.
• Develop and improve processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Track emerging legal issues for integration into working group meetings.
• Regularly communicate with coalition partners to understand needs.
• Identify beneficial legal resources for the coalition.
• Serve as a thought partner with the Director.
• Supervise and coordinate all other Democracy 2025 workstreams.
• Commitment to democracy and social progress.
• Encourage diverse perspectives in the workplace.

Requirements

• J.D. required.
• 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in management.
• Experience working with or leading coalitions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to support junior staff growth and development.
• Comfortable in a non-hierarchical structure.
• Collaborative leadership style.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines.
