Staff Technical Program Manager - Remote

Overview

The Staff Technical Program Manager will be responsible for transforming our APIs into a strategic advantage by building and enforcing standards, improving consistency, and aligning product and engineering teams toward a shared vision of developer delight.

• Lead Deel’s API program across the company, establishing ownership, accountability, and operational structure.
• Create and enforce scalable API standards and governance practices.
• Design and implement a comprehensive API evaluation system.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to drive alignment on API priorities.
• Ensure APIs are consistent, performant, and reliable.
• Work closely with Developer Experience engineers to support API builders.
• Conduct customer research to surface integration pain points.
• Own API quality conversations across the organization.
• Be a strategic partner in defining how Deel’s platform evolves.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology roles.
• Deep expertise in modern API design.
• Operational excellence in API governance and lifecycle management.
• Strong technical fluency with the ability to collaborate closely with engineers.
• Data- and customer-driven decision-maker.
• Passionate about simplifying complexity and building integration experiences.
• Familiarity with API tools and infrastructure.
• General technical knowledge of software development processes.
• Proficiency with BI tools and excellent presentation skills.
