Staff Product Designer, Design Systems - Remote

Overview

Deel is seeking a passionate and highly experienced Staff Product Designer to join our Design System team. You'll be the driving force behind the development and adoption of a best-in-class design system, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, accessible, and scalable experiences across all of Deel's products.

In Short

• Lead the evolution, documentation, and adoption of Deel's design system.
• Maintain and improve the quality, consistency, and scalability of UI components.
• Facilitate stronger engineering approaches to designer collaboration.
• Mentor and support designers in effective design system adoption.
• Develop robust, reusable components that serve multiple use cases.
• Measure component metrics and systematically address design debt.
• Create foundational work that can be reused across all product teams.
• Actively work to elevate team capabilities and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate closely with engineers on component implementation.
• Comfortable operating across multiple workstreams and aligning teams.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Product Design, with a focus on design systems.
• Strong portfolio showcasing system-level thinking and component design.
• Deep understanding of accessibility standards and usability principles.
• Expert-level mastery in Figma, tokens, and component libraries.
• Strong communicator who can align and influence stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solver with a track record of improving design processes.
• Experience with Figma Plugin API and developing internal tooling.
• Familiarity with MUI (Material UI) component library.
• Front-end experience (React, TypeScript) is a plus.
• Knowledge of motion design principles is a nice to have.
