Software Development Engineer (Server Developer) - Remote

Overview

The Software Development Engineer (Server Developer) is responsible for helping to create and improve the technology for Magic: The Gathering Online, reporting to the Lead Software Engineer.

In Short

• Designs and implements solutions for Magic: The Gathering Online.
• Investigates, analyzes, and responds to issues in a live service.
• Performs literate programming with adequate commenting and documentation.
• Adopts industry standard and team-specific coding practices.
• Communicates trade-offs, risks, and alternate solutions for proposed features.
• Seeks opportunities to improve the development process.
• Contributes to continuous improvement through code reviews and collaboration.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of experience creating and shipping software.
• 5 years working with C#/.NET.

Requirements

• Experience with SQL Server or production relational databases preferred.
• Experience with large, legacy systems.
• Bonus experience with WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, WinForms, JavaScript.
• Ability to quickly learn and master new skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Ability to familiarize with large code bases with little direction.
• Strong remote communication skills.
