Overview

As a Health Information Management Specialist at Datavant, you will be responsible for processing billing record requests and managing patient health records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

In Short

• Process billing record requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Manage patient health records and respond to requests for information.
• Ensure medical records are accurate and complete.
• Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and handling faxes.
• Work Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm EST.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Meet productivity expectations.
• May assist with patient walk-ins and additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime during peak seasons.
• Comfortable using office equipment like phones and printers.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
• Ability to build relationships with clients.
• Experience in production/metric-based work is beneficial.
• Willingness to bring process improvement suggestions.
