Senior Network Engineer – SONiC - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and driven Network Engineer with deep expertise in SONiC (opensource NOS) to join our growing infrastructure team. This is a key position as we begin the implementation and integration of SONiC-based whitebox switching into our datacenter environments. You'll work closely with the Network Engineering Lead and initially with support from our senior architect Marek, helping to shape our next-generation network stack.

In Short

• Design, implement, and maintain datacenter network topologies using SONiC on whitebox hardware.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability across the network stack.
• Automate configuration management and network operations using Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Manage the full SONiC firmware lifecycle: patching, upgrading, testing, and contributing to the open-source community.
• Select, evaluate, and maintain SONiC-compatible hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate SONiC into our broader ecosystem.
• Share SONiC expertise internally through documentation, training, and code reviews.
• Adapt to evolving priorities and contribute to company-wide infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience with SONiC: setup, customization, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of routing & switching protocols: BGP, EVPN, ECMP, VRF.
• Deep understanding of network virtualization: VXLAN, GENEVE.
• Deep understanding of Linux networking: network namespaces, bridges, veth pairs.
• Experience with FRR (Free Range Routing) and Docker.
• Proficiency in scripting and coding: Python, Bash, C/C++.
• Experience with Ansible for network configuration and automation.
