AI / ML Engineer - Remote

Overview

The AI / ML Engineer will lead the development of AI capabilities within the WISRD platform, enabling users to interact with mission data and automate workflows through natural language.

• Lead the development of AI-enabled assistant features for the WISRD platform.
• Design and implement AI capabilities for querying ISR data.
• Develop RAG pipelines grounded in structured and unstructured data.
• Optimize vector search and embedding pipelines.
• Build a provider-agnostic LLM integration layer.
• Ensure AI systems function in low-bandwidth environments.
• Lead model selection and fine-tuning processes.
• Develop backend services and APIs for AI capabilities.
• Establish MLOps pipelines for monitoring model performance.
• Collaborate in a small, agile engineering team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering.
• Experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Strong understanding of embeddings and semantic search.
• Proficiency in Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience deploying AI systems to production.
• Familiarity with model serving frameworks.
• Experience with operational data.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
