Overview

The Insurance Billing/Collections Assistant II supports clinical practice sites with billing duties, ensuring accurate processing and follow-up of billing and collections in a fast-paced Physical Therapy Program.

In Short

• Supports back-end billing duties for clinical practice sites.
• Processes billing charges and follows up on collections.
• Utilizes Epic EMR billing and scheduling system.
• Monitors and resolves outstanding billing issues.
• Provides assistance with accounts receivable issues.
• Responds to inquiries from insurance companies.
• Assists with reconciliation of charge reports.
• Provides backup support for Accounts Receivable duties.
• Handles filing, faxing, and correspondence as needed.
• Works independently in a normal office environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting or medical collections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skills in accounts receivable and claims resolution.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
• Ability to handle confidential data.
• Critical thinking and teamwork skills required.
• Experience with Epic EHR is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
