Organizer, Economic Freedom - Remote

Overview

The Organizer for Economic Freedom will work to empower low-income individuals, particularly people of color, to engage in social change through effective community organizing and advocacy efforts.

In Short

• Full-time remote position with a focus on economic justice and community organizing.
• Organize individuals eligible for Guaranteed Income programs in targeted areas.
• Conduct 1:1 engagements to build a base of impacted persons.
• Support local and state policy campaigns in health equity and economic justice.
• Coordinate cross-team campaigns and strategies.
• Assist partner organizations in building alliances and coalitions.
• Support the training capacity of impacted individuals and organizations.
• Track and report on campaign progress.
• Contribute to communications efforts to wider audiences.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in organizing within labor or membership-based institutions.
• Experience in developing and executing field plans.
• Strong relational capacity and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Excellent team player familiar with multi-disciplinary environments.
• Commitment to racial and gender justice.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to manage operational details while maintaining a macro perspective.
• Adaptive work style with initiative and independence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 50%.
• Comfortable using cloud-based tools like Google Workspace and Salesforce.

Benefits

• Annual salary of $70,000 - $85,000.
• 4 weeks of paid vacation annually.
