Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables the capture, processing, and analysis of critical data across systems at the College of the Holy Cross.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows using platforms such as AWS and Workato.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources into centralized repositories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
• Create and manage ETL/ELT processes for data transformation and delivery.
• Monitor data infrastructure for performance and data integrity.
• Support the development of data models aligning with business requirements.
• Assist in maintaining data governance protocols.
• Partner with IT security and cloud engineering teams to ensure compliance.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages.
• Experience with git and development tools.
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with metadata management tools and data catalogs.
• Experience implementing observability practices for data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience developing in AWS environments preferred.
• Experience integrating systems with tools like Workato preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across functional areas.
