Director of Platform Engineering - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced, product-focused Director of Platform Engineering to join our internal innovation lab.

In Short

• Serve as technical lead for early-stage innovation lab projects.
• Build high-performing platform and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of experimentation.
• Define and execute the vision for innovation lab’s core platform.
• Lead the implementation of GCP environment.
• Ensure compliance with security standards.
• Own and enhance in-house developer tooling.
• Conduct audits of current infrastructure and security posture.
• Launch v1 of the innovation lab platform.
• Establish SLOs/SLIs for platform services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology infrastructure.
• 4+ years of experience leading technical direction.
• Proven experience managing GCP-based infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• IaC expertise (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Programming or scripting language (Python, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with security and compliance implications.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and quick adjustments.
• Full-time resident of the contiguous United States.
